Aquaponie BXL
Homegrown farm – Brussels
BIO
Laurence has created the AQUAPONIE BXL project in an incredible green setting in the heart of Uccle, a natural space that is part of the Usine garden. There, she has set up her aquaponic vegetable garden, an artisanal garden without soil, where plants, vegetables and other aromatic herbs are nourished by nutrient-rich water. The secret of this natural fertilizer lies in the fact that it is provided by several dozen carps living in a very pleasant pond. Everything is ecological and sustainable!
To maintain this curious edible garden, this former biologist, passionate about marine ecosystems, holds its carps in good health and plants durably according to the seasons. Compared to traditional agriculture and aquaculture, aquaponics saves 90% of the necessary water to grow plants. This is only one of the advantages that you can discover thanks to the workshops that Laurence proposes, for individuals, communities, thanks to animations for schools, team-buildings for companies, as well as private consultancy, trainings for all types of public, even for the African continent, to reach more populations and give them modular tools according to the systems they could set up in their own environment. Laurence also offers turnkey aquaponics gardens for indoor and outdoor use.
